Awards
If an athlete is part of the final classification of the first eight, he was awarded the first part of the Olympic diploma. After the final, it was announced the names of the first eight starting from the end, and they are rewarded with the second part of the degree. When announced the third athlete, it climbs onto the podium to the left and receives the bronze medal. The second turn is on the way right and receives the silver medal and the first climb on the highest step of the podium and gave him the gold medal. Only rowing modifies this second part of the diploma, where the medal podium is not. This feature comes from a tradition of respect for the sport and where completely amateur athletes are all on the same footing.
